Starting out 

I made a list of all the online skills I had. That didn't take long! Essentially it amounted to a basic understanding of Microsoft Word and the ability to copy and paste. After discounting the usual 'paid surveys' and such schemes at first it seemed unlikely that there was anything that would fit the bill. After much searching I discovered Online Arbitrage.

Defining the business opportunity

Arbitrage is the purchase and sale of an item profiting from the difference in price in separate markets. Online arbitrage just means that the item is deliverable using the internet. 

What can be traded

Graphics and design, audio and video, online advertising and marketing, writing, social media posts, the list is lengthy. Indeed anything that's deliverable via the internet.

Where do we buy

There are a wealth of resources online for buyers of all manner of digital products and services. The best known is Fiverr but there are plenty more. Fivesquids, SEOclerks, Fourer, and many more.

Where do we sell

There are are as many places to sell online services as there are to buy them. Craigslist, Backpage, Gumtree, in fact any classified ads site.

How much money do we make

As with any business the success or failure depends upon the effort the owner is prepared to put into it and therefore the rewards are reflected accordingly.

Summary

Provided you are prepared to put in the work there is a definitely the opportunity to make money this way, even if you have never managed to make money online before.

But the vulnerable feeling stuck with me. Suddenly, even a job didn’t seem so stable any more.

I’m sure you don’t like to talk about it much. No-one does. But I’m convinced that I’m not the only person who has struggled with feeling helpless in this economy. In my opinion, we should start talking about it.

Because that is how we change things for the better.

So I’ll go first…

In 2011, I found myself in the exact same position.

I found a job that I hated. And I clung to it with a death grip. To make matters worse, my own fear and anxiety, was causing me to make dumb mistakes.

Which made me afraid that I would lose my job….

Just before the Holidays, I hit my lowest point ever

On the last Friday afternoon before the holiday break, my boss walked into my office and said these two words.

“You Suck”

That had never, ever happened to me before. I felt completely humiliated. I immediately felt the heat rise into my face. (I’ve never been able to hide my emotions very well)

The worst part?

He was right.

I did suck. I made dumb mistakes all the time. And I hated that job. I hated it, and I couldn’t help myself.

And I just wasn’t able to do a good job, at a job, that I hated.

The very last thing my boss said to me that day was, “You should take the holiday break to think about your future here.”

I went home that day, discouraged – but determined to find an answer

That day, something changed for me. I decided that. Somehow, and I didn’t have any idea how, I was going to find a way to never be that dependent any one person, any one job, ever again.

That night, as I lay awake for another sleepless night, I thought to myself, “Well if no-one else wants to hire me, I will just have to hire myself.”

I had no idea where to begin. Except, I was pretty sure that whatever the answer was, I would find it online.

I spent the entire holiday scouring the internet, and by the time I returned to work, I had a pretty good idea what I was going to do next......

7 Ways To Make Money From Your Blog

Its the core strategy of a vast number of successful internet marketers. Blogging has proved to be one of the most enduring methods of income generation working online. Why? It fulfills the basic requirement of any online marketing campaign, it gives value to its readers first. The sales side has to follow after you have established a rapport with your audience just like any other social media platform. The starting point for many bloggers on their journey to making money online. Run by Google, Adsence sells advertising to business which then places ads on blogs and websites in the form of banners. It is possible to make a reasonable income doing this but you will require an engaged regular audience and lots of traffic. Google will require your blog to reach a certain standard before it places ads on it but you can apply and wait until their criteria are met.

2/ Affiliate Offers
Acting as an affiliate for online products is the most popular method of making online sales, but not the easiest. It takes a lot of work to engage with your customer first but there are "Super Affiliates" out there making large sums doing it - but not just from blogging. The best route is by writing a product evaluation followed by a link. Sources of affiliate products are Clickbank, JVzoo, Clicksure, Amazon, Ebay, to name but a few.

3/ Banner Ads Place banners on your blog either for an affiliate offer or for another independent marketer. Use banner ads to promote your own online/offline products.

4/ Email Marketing You will hear this a lot "the money's in the list!". An email list is still considered to be the best method of making an online income bar none. Build a list and send them useful information about your niche and include sales emails from time to time. A Blog is considered one of the best ways of collecting email addresses as the person is already engaging with you. An accepted sign up rate is 1 in a 100 visitors so not a fast method of email collection but much will depend on how much traffic you send to your Blog.

5/ Produce an Ebook After you have written 20 or so articles on your Blog, put them together to produce an Ebook. If the content is of a high standard (and it should be) then you can either sell it, usually for around $1 or give it as an incentive to join your list. Remember you can promote your Ebook on your Blog.

6/ Website Link This method suits small business that may struggle to get their main website ranked on search engines. A much overlooked SEO method, probably because its free! Google obviously loves Google Blogger and given that you post quality content regularly its not difficult to rank on the first page in your niche. link your Blog to your website using hyperlinks.

7/ Blogging for Big Business For Bloggers that become accepted authorities in their niche there is the opportunity to work for big name retailers reviewing and promoting products or working for multi nationals as part of their PR campaigns. Not many of us will want to do this or indeed be good enough to be considered but the rewards are there for those who do.

There are many more ways to make money from Blogs but here are but 7. None of the above is of any use at all unless your content is very good and you drive traffic to your Blog so people read it!

So day 5 working on 5 FigureDay is over. Only spent about 1 hour on it today but still a few more sign ups. All the traffic to the web site has been free following Bryan Wilson's traffic training. This is important to us as we need to test this as if we were newbys to online marketing. Selling this or any other product must be ETHICAL. Should someone buy this product, spend $97 for a few months, struggle with it and give up may suit a hit and run seller but we are in it for the long haul. Have probably spent more time on this that I should today. Started before 8am and apart from taking breaks for Breakfast and lunch continued 'til 4pm. Took the horses out for a long ride on a beautiful spring afternoon. Its just as important to take time out as it is making time to work when working from home. A balance is essential. So what are today's results? Well I have 2 more signups which is ok but hardly barnstorming but then most of today's efforts were setting the groundwork for a traffic campaign. So far I have concentrated on free traffic as this would be the obvious route for a beginner. However, I have set aside a (very) small budget for financing paid traffic. The cheapest place to find this is Fiverr but its cheap for a reason. I have had some terrific deals from fiverr but its a must to do your homework first. I would not entertain any gig that had not got a long list of positive feedback and even then its important to read between the lines. Hi Just a quick 5FIGUREDAY update. Signed up last night and am now in the members area. First there was an upgrade offer which looked good value and would have dovetailed nicely into my present online businesses but the plan is to keep it simple and prove that it works (or not).
